- Volunteering in the classroom provides the opportunity to take an
active role in your child's first school experience. Volunteers gain
knowledge of the preschool curriculum and have the opportunity to
observe learning experiences that are taking place within the
classroom. Parents are required to be the Parent Helper in the
classroom and are given the opportunity to sign up to be the helper at
the Orientation Night held in August prior to the start of the school
year. The parents are asked to work three times the first semester and
three times the second semester. Moms, dads, grandparents and other
caregivers are welcome to be the helper. We do ask that all Parent
Helpers be at least 18 years of age. When you are helping in the
classroom, please do not bring siblings, as this is a special time for
your preschool child.
Prior to helping in the classroom, all volunteers must complete a district required background check. Click here for information on volunteering in the Francis Howell School District.
