The Francis Howell School District Early Childhood Program offers a comprehensive and supportive system of services for young children and their families. Research confirms that a child's most influential years of learning occur before the age of 5. Children grow and develop more in the early years of life than during any other period, and parents play a vital role in helping their children lay a firm foundation for all that follows.

Francis Howell School District offers a free developmental screening to children three to five years of age. Children may be screened once per year between the ages three and five years old. Francis Howell recommends every child is screened the year prior to Kindergarten entry.
